White dropped while Hogg makes come back in Australian T20 teamSydney, Jan 23: The Australian selectors have announced the squad for the two Twenty20 against India in February. Cameron White has been dropped from the squad due to his poor form whereas veteran left-arm spinner Brad Hogg has made a comeback in the Australian squad after almost a four year gap. Hogg has been selected following excellent performances in the Big Bash League as he led Perth Scorchers to the grand finale of the tournament. Tasmanian George Bailey has been handed over the captaincy of the Australian Twenty20 team from White, The Sydney Morning Herald reports. Bailey''s selection has come as a surprise to many as he didn''t perform too well in the Big Bash League and could barely manage 114 runs at an average of 19. There have been lots of changes in the Australian squad, which visited South Africa last year, mainly due to injuries. Vice-captain Shane Watson, young bowlers Pat Cummins and James Pattinson are some of the important omissions. Australia and India will play two Twenty20 matches at ANZ Stadium on February 1 and at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 4. Australian Twenty20 Squad: George Bailey (captain), David Warner (vice-captain) Travis Birt, Dan Christian, Xavier Doherty, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Brad Hogg, David Hussey, Brett Lee, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Clint McKay, Matthew Wade. © ANI |
