We will look to cash in on home advantage, says Saha

Chennai, Sep 21: Being a deputy wicket-keeper to Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the Chennai Super Kings squad, it is the lot of Wriddhiman Saha to bide his time and warm the bench, but the dapper stumper from Bengal is prepared for any role in the interest of the team.

"Any job is assigned because of team interest. If the team needs, I am a good fielder and my job will be to field in outfield (if asked to)," he asserted during a media interaction here Wednesday.

Looking ahead to the Champions League T20 competition, the 26-year old Saha was optimistic of Super Kings' chances of retaining the crown, given that they would be playing all their matches at home here in Chepauk where they won all their seven games in this summer's Indian Premier League.

"We have won all the matches here and this is the good opportunity for us to keep the momentum going. We all are practicing hard in fielding, bowling and batting. That is the main strength. And, when we get chance, everybody can perform to his strength," he said.

Saha opined that the amount of cricket played by some of the Super Kings players in the recent months will not impact their performances in the Champions League.

"They are professionals and they know how to adjust. They will keep playing their natural game, work hard and perform well," he said.

Meanwhile, Super Kings team manager Russell Radhakrishnan said Michael Hussey (Australia) and Suraj Randiv (Sri Lanka) would be joining team later in the day while skipper Dhoni and Suresh Raina are expected here Thursday night.

He said no decision on replacement for the injured Kiwi seamer Tim Southee has been taken. Southee pulled out of the tournament owing to a knee injury he suffered earlier this week.
