Minnows battle for pride
41st Match Group A
Zimbabwe Vs Kenya
Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata
Match start time: 09.30 IST
With quarter final line-up already decided from group A, the battle between Zimbabwe and Kenya would be of pride when they take on each other at Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Much has been said about lesser teams’ participation into the mega events such as the world cup. The game, therefore, would serve as an ideal opportunity for both the sides to put up a good show and showcase to the world their ability to be competitive.
Zimbabwe would certainly start as the favorite as they have been competitive in some of their matches against top teams apart from beating Canada comprehensively in this world cup. Kenya, on the other hand, has sink way below the standard they once had when they reached the semifinals in 2003 edition of cricketing fiesta.
Zimbabwe
Batting has been a matter of concern for Zimbabwe. Aprt from Taylor, none of their batsmen have shown application that one may expect from batsmen at international level.
On the brighter side, their bowling has shown remarkable improvement with team having a number of effective spinners who could put a stranglehold on any team provided they get assistance from the pitch.
Ray Price has been impressive throughout the tournament and Zimbabwe would look for another good show from the veteran spinner.

Kenya
Apart from their last game against might Aussies, Kenya have been a let-down in this world cup. With both batting and bowling dogged with players’s inconsistency, the team needs to lift itself to be a match to Zimbabwe.
The performance of Tanmay Mishra, though, augurs well for future of the side. Kenya, however, would need contributions from experienced Thomos Odoyo, Steve Tikolo and Obuya to put up a good show at Eden Gardens.
