Strauss and 'apologetic' Pietersen pals again after settling text messages spat

London, Sep 21: Former England captain Andrew Strauss has said he has patched up with Kevin Pietersen after the South African-born batsman offered an apology over the text messages he sent to some of the Proteas players.

Pietersen was axed from the England squad for sending texts about his ex-skipper to South African players during the Test series.

“We did catch up. It was important we did. He and I have had interesting times over the last month or two, and it was great to sit down with him,” the Sun quoted Strauss, as saying.

“He apologised for a few things he had done. We’ve been through a lot together and had shared experiences. We’re fine going forward,” he added.
