London, July 15: South African top gun Dale Steyn has given a stark warning to England player Jimmy Anderson, by saying that he just wants to take wickets and will scare the s**t out of people.
“I just want to take wickets and scare the s**t out of people,” the Daily Mirror quoted Steyn, as saying.
“I couldn’t give anything about what Jimmy says to me. I’m going to do exactly the same thing but that’s the responsibility of a fast bowler, just to get his team motivated,” he added.
Steyn has vowed to unleash a war of words on England’s leading pacer ahead of Thursday’s first Test at the Oval and is in a bid to protect his ranking as the world’s top bowler from Anderson, the current No.3.
“Fast bowlers make things happen when things are quiet and they are responsibilities that fall on my shoulders. Once I step over that white line I become a bowler,” he said.
“When I’m sitting down here I’m another guy. That is what happens when guys walk across the line they become cricketers, fighters and warriors,” he added.
