Proteas rookie Parnell must stay in squad to ensure team's bright prospectsCape Town, Dec 21: South African rookie Wayne Parnell will likely be included in the squad for the South Africa- England Test series to brighten his team’s prospects. Parnell, who had encouraging first-innings figures of 11.3-6-17-3, has highlighted his all-round ability by scoring 44 and 43 runs at batting in No 6 position in the recent SuperSport Series match against the Dolphins at Port Elizabeth. He had earlier scored a ton as an opening batsman against the Lions in the 1-Day Cup at Potchefstroom, Sport 24 reports. South African bowlers Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander would be crucial in leading the team’s pace attack, while James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann and Tim Bresnan would be the key players to watch out for in the England team. South Africa-England Test series is expected to be very engrossing and competitive since England is currently the top ranked team in the format and had inflicted on them a last minute defeat on their home soil in 2008. The series is expected to be more intense since it has been reduced to three matches and even one lopsided session could turn the tables. © ANI |
