Placid pitch may see Hilfenhaus be rested for Adelaide TestSydney, Jan 22 : Australian fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus might be seen carrying drinks for his team mates during the Adelaide Test despite rattling the Indian batsmen throughout the Test series. Hilfenhaus has taken 23 wickets at the average 16 in the first three Tests against India and has bowled 40 overs more than Peter Siddle, but has not had much success on the placid Adelaide pitch on previous occasions. The Australian selectors can decide to keep him out of the Test team for the last Test, if the contentious rotation policy preferred by new Cricket Australia boss Pat Howard is followed. Fast bowler Siddle who has now played eight Test matches continuously had earlier urged the Australian selectors to select him for the Adelaide Test match, news.com.au reports. Young Australian bowler Mitchell Starc performed brilliantly during the Perth Test and is set to retain his place in the squad, as the Australian selectors would like him to carry forward his Test education, the report said. Starc’s inclusion in the team is more suitable since he is a left-arm seamer, which would enable him to create footmarks that would eventually assist off spinner Nathan Lyon who is expected to play in the fourth Test, it added. © ANI |
