Pietersen left to wait to know about his England fateLondon, Aug 21: Disgruntled England batsman Kevin Pietersen could be made to wait for several weeks before learning about his fate to play again. Captain Andrew Strauss revealed he has no plans for a clear the air meeting with Pietersen as of now. In fact, Strauss is going on a short family holiday this week to relax after England lost their world No 1 Test ranking to South Africa. Pietersen will remain in doldrums today when the squads are announced for the five-match ODI series against the Proteas, the three Twenty20 matches and next month’s World Twenty20, The Sun reports. His representatives said that they hope to meet Strauss this week perhaps even as early as tomorrow. But Strauss said: “I don’t think anything is going to be happening with Kevin straight away. The issues that need to be resolved will take a while.” Pietersen was dropped for the Third Test after failing to apologise for the texts he sent to the South Africa squad until it was too late. © ANI |
