Philander could be 'really dangerous' in bowler-friendly conditions: PollockJohannesburg, Nov 23: Former South African captain Shaun Pollock reckons that fast bowler Vernon Philander is a class act and well up to the demands of Test combat. Pollock’s comment comes after Philander was named the player-of-the-series of the two-Test series against Australia for his 14 wickets at a superb average of 13.92. “Whether with the new ball or old ball he bowls so straight and (makes batsmen) play,” Sport24 quoted Pollock, as saying. “If he gets the Dukes ball to talk in England next year (when the Proteas play a three-Test series) he could be really dangerous,” he added. The 26-year-old was also awarded the man of the match award for the Cape Town Test after taking 5-15 in Australia’s second innings. © ANI |
