PCB offers to groom players from Asian associate member countriesIslamabad, Sept. 25: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered facilities at its National Cricket Academies to groom players of the associate Asian Cricket Council (ACC) member nations. "We have extended offer to them (associate members) and will provide all kind of support to enhance skills of their players," the Daily Times quoted PCB chief Zaka Ashraf, as saying. "The arrival of teams from these countries will also help pave way for revival of international cricket in Pakistan," he added. Zaka, who is also chairman of the ACC Development Committee, said that the members of the committee had appreciated Pakistan''s role in development of cricket in Afghanistan and China, and had also agreed to grant the status of associate member to Afghanistan. At present the International Cricket Council (ICC) countries - Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are ACC''s full members while Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand and United Arab Emirates (UAE) are its associate members. Eleven countries - Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, China, Iran, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are affiliate members of the ACC. © ANI |
