Mukund strikes ton, Sehwag fails in tour matchNorthampton, Aug 5 : Virender Sehwag made a disappointing return to cricket Friday when he fell for eight runs in India's first innings in their tour match against Northampton here at the County Ground. Sehwag's innings lasted a mere 25 balls as he was caught plumb in front by left-arm fast bowler David Willey. Sehwag was making a comeback after recovering from a shoulder injury which forced him to miss the first two Tests that India lost. India were 193 for three at the tea break with opener Abhinav Mukund making an unbeaten 102. V.V.S. Laxman once again showed good form in English conditions with a fluent 49. Zaheer Khan, who did not play in the second Test due to a hamstring injury, was included in the playing eleven. India are on the verge of losing the series and their number one ranking after losing the first two Tests by big margins. The third Test begins Wednesday. © IANS |
