England international bowler Liam Plunkett has crossed the county boundary to join promoted Yorkshire from Durham, his new club announced on Tuesday. The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the Leeds-based side ahead of their return to the County Championship Division One next season. Plunkett has played nine Tests, 21 One-Day Internationals -- the last of which came in February against Australia -- and one Twenty20 for England. He will be reunited at Headingley with former Durham head coach Martyn Moxon, who is now Yorkshire's director of cricket. "I am delighted to be joining Yorkshire for next season," Plunkett said. "The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the country was too good to turn down. "The club has had a strong 2012 and I believe adding myself and Jack Brooks to the current squad will give us the best bowling attack in the country and will help propel us towards silverware in 2013." |
