Kenyan captain Jimmy Kamande on Thursday became the second casualty to be send packing following the country's worst World Cup performance in two decades, cricket officials said.
No replacement has been named for the veteran all-rounder, who only took over the captaincy of the team last October.
"Cricket Kenya has taken the decision to stand down Jimmy Kamande as captain as part of the widespread changes we are making during our post World Cup review," said chief executive Tom Sears in a statement.
"Given that the national squad do not have any fixtures until July, when they feature in the African Cricket Association Twenty 20 tournament, and we are in the process of recruiting a new National Coach and appointing a new selection panel, we will not be announcing a replacement at this stage," he added.
Earlier this week, the cricket board accepted the decision by the team's West Indian coach, Eldine Baptiste to quit, three months before the end of his two-year contract.
Kenya lost all the six group matches in the World Cup held in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh between February 24 and April 2.
