Jacques Faul resigns as acting CEO of Cricket South AfricaJohannesburg, July 6 : Jacques Faul has resigned as acting CEO of Cricket SA (CSA), four months after replacing embattled chief Gerald Majola. Faul took over the job on an interim basis in March after Majola was suspended following a ministerial inquiry into bonuses paid to CSA staff. CSA spokesperson Altaaf Kazi said the cricket body had not yet accepted his resignation letter. “The board has asked him to reconsider and that is what he is doing right now. At this moment Jacques Faul is still the acting CEO of CSA,” Kazi said. The SA Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), which reportedly had a copy of the resignation letter, said on its website that Faul believed certain board members had lost faith in his judgment, Sport24 reports. According to the SABC, Faul believed this could lead to “further conflict” as he would not agree with the board in future. © ANI |
