New Delhi, June 10: Indian fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and S. Sreesanth have been ruled out of the three-match Test series against West Indies due to injuries.
The series will begin on June 24 in Kingston, Jamaica.
“Zaheer has a right ankle problem, and Sreesanth has a right elbow problem. Both players will require some time off for rehabilitation,” Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary N. Srinivasan said today.
Praveen Kumar and Abhimanyu Mithun have been named as their replacements in the squad.
Team India is already without batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, opening batsmen Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, and all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.
India’s squad for the series: M.S. Dhoni (captain), V.V.S Laxman (vice-captain), Murali Vijay, Abhinav Mukund, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Subramaniam Badrinath, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, Abhimanyu Mithun, Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha, Praveen Kumar, Munaf Patel, Suresh Raina and Parthiv Patel.
