How 'Binga' Lee became the face of 'Venky's' chickenSydney, July 15: Former Australian star cricketer Brett Lee became the face of Indian poultry company Venky''s chicken after he met the firm’s owner Venkatesh Rao on a flight during the Champions League two years ago. Rao reportedly sent his assistant on the flight to ask Lee to sit next to him. Even as Lee hesitated, with a ‘no thanks’, Rao insisted, and the speedster finally gave in. “And by the end of the flight, he''d agreed to become the face of Venky''s chicken,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted author James Knight, who penned Lee''s biography, ‘My Life’, as writing. Knight claimed Lee''s stardom through cricket ''''reached proportions that the average person would find hard to believe''''. © ANI |
