Even-Stevens at BengaluruBengaluru, Sept 2: Day three of the second Test between India and New Zealand ended here with the match precariously poised, thanks to a remarkable recovery by Indian spinners, led once again by R. Ashwin, after batting folded up at 353. The Kiwis, batting at 232/9 are 244 ahead, with the last wicket pair of Jeetan Patel and Trent Boult at the crease. Ashwin, leading the Indian charge, followed his Hyderabad heroics with another fiver, and returned with figures of 69/5, while left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha and pacer Umesh Yadav claimed two wickets apiece. Earlier, riding on Virat Kohli’s 103 and captain M.S.Dhoni’s 62, India scampered to 353, twelve short of the Kiwi’s first innings total of 365. Tim Southee claimed 64/7. © ANI |
