England team needs to be bit macho to defeat South Africa: GilesDec 14 : Former England spinner and selector Ashley Giles has said the team needs to become a bunch of macho men if they have to beat South Africa, the World No. 2 team. Giles also reckons that he has never seen a fitter, stronger and better-prepared England team, and is convinced they have the self-belief and aggression to beat the Proteas. “It is a big point of coach Andy Flower that traditionally we have started slowly in Test series. We have to change that. We need to be a bit macho, go toe-to-toe and have a battle. We are prepared for it,” The Sun quoted Giles, as saying. “South Africa will be looking at a certain amount of revenge after the one-day series. There will be a lot of pressure and expectation on them. So, the best thing we can do is concentrate on our own preparation,” Giles said. |
