Surrey paceman Andre Nel has been given a two-match ban in England's domestic 40-over competition following a display of dissent over an umpire's decision in Sunday's win over Lancashire. The South African pace bowler earned three penalty points which, when added to six he had incurred over the previous two years, triggered an automatic suspension under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) discipline code. He is banned from any cricket under the ECB's jurisdiction until May 4, which will mean he misses both of Surrey's 40-over matches over the upcoming holiday weekend. Nel, 32, retired from international cricket last year. |
