Daniel Christian, a good all-round option: Hussey

Sydney, Dec 5: Australian batsman Michael Hussey reckons that all-rounder Daniel Christian has the ability to be a match-winner in Test cricket.

Hussey’s comment comes after Christian was named in the 12-man squad for the second Test against New Zealand in Hobart.

“He’s a good all-round option. I think he can bowl long spells and keep it tight and he can bowl reverse swing. But I think the area where he’s most dangerous is with the bat,” stuff.co.nz quoted Hussey, as saying.

“Particularly against a tiring attack he can really take the game away from them very quickly,” he added.

Earlier, chief selector John Inverarity had said that Pat Cutting’s injury opened the door for Christian to provide better balance to the team.

“The balance of a team is always enhanced by the presence of an energetic all-rounder who is in good form,” Inverarity had said.
