Cricket Australia not fretful about Warner's arduous scheduleSydney, Jan 19: Cricket Australia (CA) has brushed aside concerns regarding David Warner’s strenuous cricketing schedule for the year ahead. Warner is one of the few Australians considered a regular choice for all three cricketing formats and is also the star attraction in the Indian Premier League for his team, the Delhi Daredevils. According to CA''s new approach to player management, Warner is sure to be rested for some games, or may be even a particular series. But a spokesman from CA said Pat Howard, general manager, team performance, is relaxed with Warner’s estimated workload for the coming months. Howard has made a detailed long-term plan to make certain that the best players were available for the most important series as every Australian player''s workload is cautiously observed and supervised on medical advice “David does work harder than the vast majority of batsmen because of the way he trains and fields. He is a high-energy and active fielder, but we don''t have any workload concerns,” said a spokesman. Australia’s busiest cricketer Warner can play up to 11 Tests, 26 one-dayers and 12 Twenty20 matches during this season, excluding his club Twenty20 obligations, The Sydney Morning Herald reports. Warner has only played one game for his Big Bash League team, Sydney Thunder, due to his international duties. Thunder''s loss has brought down its chances of making to the Champions League Twenty20 in October but Warner could still play a part in it if his IPL team Delhi Daredevils qualifies. © ANI |
