Cook and Strauss set to open innings for record 100th time in Test cricketDubai, Jan 24 : England opener Alastair Cook and captain Andrew Strauss are on the verge of becoming the first English opening pair and the fourth in the history to open the innings together 100 times in Test cricket. Strauss has just scored one century in thirty months and would look forward to celebrate this milestone with a much-needed century. Meanwhile, Cook is certain Strauss will score another century soon as he is looking good while hitting the ball on the pitch. “I haven''t seen Straussy hit the ball better for a long time,” The Sun quoted Cook, as saying. Cook also feels Strauss is looking good during their current series against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. “He is moving as well as ever and striking the ball superbly. He''s looked really good on this tour so I''m not sure why he hasn''t made a hundred since Brisbane in 2010,” he added. England will now look to bounce back in their series after being thrashed in the first Test match by Pakistan. © ANI |
