Clarke becomes only captain to score double, triple centuries in single Test seriesMelbourne, Jan 26 : Australian skipper Michael Clarke has made a world record by becoming the only captain in 135 years to smash a double and triple century in the same Test series. Clarke made the record after scoring 210 during the fourth Test against India in Adelaide. He has also scored the highest number of centuries in his 12 Tests as captain, lagging only behind Aussie legend Don Bradman, telegraph.com.au reports. Bradman scored eight centuries on leading his side in 12 Tests, Clarke has scored five, while Steve Waugh, Greg Chappell and Bill Lawry made four centuries each. It is also notable that only Ricky Ponting and Allan Border had made more runs for Australia at a younger age than Clarke. Australia has won two and drawn two Test series under Clarke’s captaincy. © ANI |
