Bravo believes playing T20 cricket outside Caribbean helped PollardSydney, Mar 29: West Indies all rounder Dwayne Bravo believes hard hitting batsman Kieron Pollard''s stint in various cricket leagues outside the Caribbean, has helped him develop into a monster striker of a ball, and it is benefiting the whole Windies team now. Pollard slammed an unbeaten 54 off just 26 deliveries in the first Twenty20 in St Lucia on Tuesday. He took just 20 balls to get to 50, a record for a West Indian in T20 international cricket, belting five sixes in another stout display of power-hitting. He had already scored a match-winning 102 in the fourth ODI, and scored a total of 16 sixes in the five-match one-day series. Pollard''s Windies teammate, Bravo believes his stints in the Big Bash, Indian Premier League (IPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) or playing in England''s domestic cricket circuit has helped him massively. "It shows that playing cricket outside of the Caribbean, whether it''s Big Bash, IPL (Indian Premier League), BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), playing in England, all those different conditions, is actually paying off now," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Bravo, as saying. "It''s benefiting the whole West Indies team. It''s a good sign and a good chance for other players to get the opportunity and exposure of playing in those leagues," he added. © ANI |
