Bopara, Dernbach and Kieswetter earn incremental contractsLondon, October 8 The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has awarded incremental 12-month central contracts to Ravi Bopara, Jade Dernbach and Craig Kieswetter. The trio played crucial roles in England's 3-0 NatWest Series triumph over India last month. All three are in the squad for the reverse series in India, starting in Hyderabad Oct 14. "I am delighted that Ravi Bopara, Jade Dernbach and Craig Kieswetter have been awarded increment contracts," national selector Geoff Miller was quoted as saying in English media. "This is in recognition of the important role they have played in the England side in recent months and their potential to develop still further as cricketers over the next 12-month period." The awards are an automatic consequence once an England player plays a certain number of games. © IANS |
