''Confident'' Pak woman cricketer Nain vows impressive show at World T20 tourney

Karachi, Sept. 18: The first Pakistan woman to score an international century is now aiming for an impressive show at the Women''s World Twenty20 that is scheduled to start from September 26.

Pakistan vice-captain, Nain Abidi, said the century had given a boost to her confidence, and hoped it would help her at the mega event, reports The Express Tribune.

Nain added the team is making steady progress that could be gauged from the outstanding individual performances in recent times.

"We are progressing well as a unit and it is because of the support from the PCB''s women wing. The improvement is due to the increased international exposure," she said.

The women''s event will feature eight teams with Pakistan being bracketed with the pre-event favourites Australia, England and India. The top two sides from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Abidi said the team was not concerned over the presence of tough teams in their group.

"We are targeting a victory against each side. We are banking on team efforts as we are now a balanced outfit," she said.
