Kevin Pietersen smashed a quickfire 90 off 103 balls as England drew their three-day tour match with West Indies A on Saturday. Pietersen, who hit 103 in England's tour opener here last week, once again proved that his controversial decision to relinquish the national team captaincy has not affected his appetite for runs. His innings on Saturday featured 17 fours as England made 414 all out in reply to West Indies A's mammoth 574-8 declared. Resuming on the third and final day at 134-2, England also saw skipper Andrew Strauss hit a steady 97 with Paul Collingwood making 82, which featured three sixes. The home side reached 16-0 in their second innings before the game petered out into a predictable draw. England and West Indies will meet in the first Test in Jamaica from February 4. |
