New Zealand win toss, bowl first in crucial West Indies ODI

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first in the winner-takes-all fifth and final one-day cricket international against the West Indies here Tuesday.

After 34 days of the West Indies tour, the two sides are deadlocked with the two Tests drawn, the two Twenty20 matches shared one-all and the one-day series locked at one-all after two games were abandoned because of rain.

Showers are also forecast for late Tuesday and New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori said that was one reason for electing to bowl first so he would know the target to aim at.

New Zealand have made one change to their fourth ODI team with Mathew Sinclair dropped and Jesse Ryder returning after being stood down for disciplinary reasons.

Ryder will open the New Zealand innings and Martin Guptill, who starred as the opener with 122 not out on his debut in the last game, will bat at first drop.

The West Indies have also made one change, with allrounder Kieron Pollard replacing left-arm spinner Nikita Miller.
