England’s best batsman Kevin Pietersen has blamed his `nut’ for his suicidal dismissal in the first Ashes Test against Australia being played here.
However, he said, he had no regrets over his moment of madness.
"When you get out, you're out, there's nothing you can do. It was unfortunate that the ball hit my helmet - if it hadn't done that, I would have got away with it. Other people seem to look into my dismissals more than I do. I got out. I was playing Nathan Hauritz pretty similar all day but maybe he outfoxed me a little bit. It was just unfortunate it hit my head," The Sun quoted KP, as saying.
England made 336 for seven at the close of play, thanks to half centuries by KP, Paul Collingwood and Matt Prior.
"Myself and Colly missed out on getting big scores but the Aussies have won the first day in the last two Ashes series so we will take that. We had to dig in. All of us know Australia will come at us in waves so you have to realize when the opportunity is there to attack. The promising thing for us is that Hauritz was spinning it. We have two spinners so, if you can turn the ball on day one, that's pretty interesting,” KP said.
