Chaminda Vaas dismissed both the openers to leave Bangladesh reeling at 51-3 in their first innings at lunch on the second day of the second Test against Sri Lanka here on Sunday. The fast bowler removed Tamim Iqbal for a duck in the opening over and trapped Imrul Kayes leg before for six to dent Bangladesh's hopes for a good start. Spinner Ajantha Mendis picked the third wicket when Raqibul Hasan failed to read a straighter one from the bowler and was adjudged leg before. Skipper Mohammad Ashraful, who hit a century in the opening Test in Dhaka, was batting on 13 with Junaid Siddique on 22 at the break. Earlier Bangladesh bowled out the visitors for 384 after they had added 13 runs in four overs to their overnight 371-6. Left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan picked three quick wickets to finish with 4-109 while paceman Mashrafe Mortza (3-58) accounted for the fourth Sri Lankan wicket to fall in the morning. Chamara Kapugedera looked set to score his maiden Test century before he was trapped leg before off Hasan after adding three runs to his overnight 93. Kapugedera, who hit 12 fours and a six in his fine 124-ball knock, had shared a valuable 173-run stand for the sixth wicket with Tillakaratne Dilshan, the top-scorer for Sri Lanka with 162. Mortaza removed the other overnight batsman Chaminda Vaas in his first ball of the next over while Hasan removed Muttiah Muralitharan and Dilhara Fernando off successive balls to bring an end to the Sri Lankan first innings. Sri Lanka lead the two-Test series 1-0 after winning the opening Test in Dhaka by 107 runs.
