Persistent rain delayed the start of the second and final Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium here on Saturday. No play was possible before lunch on the opening day. The two umpires Daryl Harper of Australia and Asoka de Silva of Sri Lanka were due to have the first inspection before lunch but it could not take place due to non-stop rain. Officials said an inspection was only possible once rain stops. New Zealand lead the two-match series 1-0. They won the first Test by three wickets at Chittagong. |
