Kenya coach Andy Kirsten is seeking assistance from his older brother Peter to help his side's batsmen, who have proved to be the weakest link in the team in recent matches.

South African-born Kirsten, who took charge of the side in May, was forced to make changes to the top order after a disastrous start to the ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Ireland which they lost by an innings and 65 runs earlier this week.

The introduction of Seren Waters to open the batting paid dividends, the 18-year-old schoolboy scoring an impressive 75 in the second innings.

Kirsten and his brother will look to continue the trend of bringing on youngsters when Kenya play Ireland and Zimbabwe in the limited-overs one-day series which starts in Nairobi on Friday.

The older Kirsten quit as coach of Jersey after the islanders were relegated from the World League Division Four in Dar es Salaam last week and his brother said he was happy to have him as a specialist batting coach for the team.
